Description:A critical 42-inch PCCP water transmission main that runs under a residential area in Mesa, Arizona had several sections of distressed pipe that required rehabilitation. The City of Mesa selected B&F Contracting as the CMAR to evaluate pressure pipe rehabilitation methods during the design phase and self-perform the construction services for this Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) project. B&F Contracting worked with Mesa to look at two options for the HDPE pipe. In the end, slip lining was chosen as the liner due to the cost. B&F completed all of the excavation, backfill, restoration, HDPE pipe fusion, install of the Ameron closure pieces, pressure testing and BAC-T testing.
