This week was all about taking a break from the toolbox talk or other safety topics to draw attention to the specific hazards related to working in and around trenches and excavations. The goal is to reach out to all B&F employees who are working in the field around or in trenches & excavations to provide them with information about current excavation requirements and safety procedures and stay on top of new OSHA standards. This gives everyone time to reflect on the work we are doing and avoid becoming complacent when following safety procedures and meeting safety standards.
This week serves as a reminder to all employees of the importance of working safe and going home to their families. This was also a great opportunity for management to talk directly to employees and others about safety and reinforce the importance of using trench protective systems and protecting workers from trenching hazards.
