PVC-Lined Concrete Sewer Pipe and Manhole Rehabilitation

Based upon the condition assessment completed in 2017, the City of Phoenix contracted with B&F to identify and prioritize rehabilitation projects based on the severity of sewer pipeline and manhole defects. The report recommended rehabilitation of 71 sewer pipe segments, ranging from 27-inch to 60-inch, totaling ±44,000 feet at various locations within the City of Phoenix right-of-way or easements. Rehabilitation of sewer pipeline includes spot repairs of PVC lining and CIPP lining of full segments of pipe (manhole to manhole). The report also recommended the rehabilitation of 190 manholes, which includes coating restoration, lining repair, structural inserts, and replacement.

B&F was responsible for the entirety of the project, including but not limited to permits with the railroad, ADOT, and the county, bypass up to 70 MGD, all site logistics, odor mitigation, confined space entry and cleaning, inspection of the pipeline, and pipe rehabilitation via CIPP or PVC T-lock repairs. Our team overcame multiple challenges on this project, such as unknown utility conflicts, oversized suction pits, unprecedented price increases, and supply chain shortages to ensure client satisfaction and overall project success. B&F also worked through aged as-builts and inaccurate pipe diameter sizes to avoid delays.
