North Rillito Interceptor Rehabilitation

Performing as the CMAR for Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department (RWRD), B&F Contracting rehabilitated over 53,000 LF of existing 15-inch through 36-inch sewer using CIPP, and new pipe. To facilitate this project more than 132,000 LF of large diameter HDPE pipe was fused, installed, and removed in order to manage existing sewer flows. Existing sewer flows ranged from 3 MGD up to 20 MGD over 6 different project phases, and 3 sub phases. Multiple project stakeholders included PCRWRD, PC Regional Flood Control District, PC Parks and Recreation, The Chuck Huckleberry Loop, Arizona State Museum, PC DOT, City of Tucson DOT, Tucson Water Department, Metro Water, Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ), numerous schools and homeowners associations, as well as every business and property owner along the 10 mile alignment.

The NRI Rehabilitation won multiple public works awards after completion. These include the American Public Works Association (APWA) Arizona Chapter 2018 Public Works, Project of the Year (Environmental $5M to $25M), and APWA Southern Arizona Branch 2018 Public Works Project of the Year (Environmental $5M to $25M).
