Dobson Road and University Drive Intersection Improvements

The Dobson Road and University Drive Intersection Improvements for the City of Mesa rehabilitated the entire roadway and underground infrastructure for 1½ miles along University Drive and Dobson Road. This restoration work included three major intersections along University Drive. For each of these intersections, the existing traffic signals and streetlights were removed and replaced with new conduits, foundations, poles, lights, wiring, video detection, Opticom, and controller cabinets. Project also included the installation of 1500 LF of Fiber Optic/ Communication Duct Banks, 63,000 SY of Pavement Replacement, 12,000 LF of Waterline, 6,000 LF of Sewer, 7,000 LF of Gas line, and Removed and Replace Concrete Sidewalk Curb/Gutter/Driveway. B&F also installed meter pedestals and synced an existing emergency signal with the City’s Interconnect and graded and paved street after utility work. The project budget was increased due to added scope and unknown utility conflicts resulting in delays and added cost to the project.
