Novus Innovation Corridor

This project included the removal of approximately 16,000 LF feet of existing cast iron & DIP waterlines, large diameter concrete, clay & PVC sewer lines, large diameter irrigation lines, telephone lines, fiber lines, overhead & underground power lines, 25 street lights, 18 sanitary sewer manholes, 4 telephone, 8 electrical and 4 irrigation structures, as well as removal and disposal of 8 transformers. New installation included a 3MGD sewer bypass system with 3ea 12” submersible pumps that included temporary and redundant piping systems to accommodate the installation of 771 LF of new 30” VCP and 245 LF of 36” HDPE sewer lines with 12 EA corrosion proof polymer manholes. Also included was R&R of the existing laser flow meter, Televise and Testing and dry utility relocation for APS.

B&F team members had to plan and coordinate this work while keeping the sewer system active as to not interrupt ASU facilities while construction of the new line proceeded. Our firm had limited work timeframe to complete the installation and have it back in service. Extended shift times, weekend and night work were performed to accelerate the project schedule. B&F also coordinated with multiple project stakeholders that included ASU, the City of Tempe, Rummel Construction, APS and Cox.
