B&F was contracted to perform traffic signal upgrades which consisted of new and existing equipment, new wire, and new emergency vehicle preemption capability. Work was done during night and day shifts depending on the work involved. B&F also performed night work for this JOC, which involved changing out the traffic signal poles, adding photo radar systems, LPR’s (License Plate Readers), and emergency on call services. Scope of work also included installation of new traffic signal control cabinets, meter pedestals, traffic management, concrete and asphalt replacement, and striping. B&F overcame challenges by doing as much upfront investigation as possible and having additional materials on hand for the unforeseen circumstances. Contingency plans were in place to prepare for potential issues and avoid adverse impacts to the schedule. B&F’s value engineering in the design of the job orders reduced costs by $350,000 for the Town.
